The Best Gift Guide for Boys Ages 8-12 - That They Will Love!
It's that time of year again when we are thinking about gifts for the kids for the upcoming holiday season. We're getting close to being done making their Halloween costumes, and with the kids back at school, we have a bit of time to think!
The gifts that we like to buy the kids are ones that they can play with over and over, gifts that are useful, and gifts that are personalized for them. They also have to be unique, thoughtful, and it has to suit their personality.
Here is our Gift Guide for boys (and girls) - for kids ages 8-12. This is for a Star Wars lover, someone who loves nature, drawing, fidgeting, loves to build Lego, and is the ultimate prankster!
Check them out!
1. Brick Building Letter Board, by Creative QT
We can't wait to give these to our kids. They have been playing with our old-school letter boards and changing all the quotes around (kind of annoying) - so this is one for them! This one is easy to use too since it uses their favorite thing, bricks!
2. Star Wars Mandalorian Brick Headz, Lego
Two of our kids' favorite things - Star Wars Mandalorian x Lego. Enough said! They like to use the Brick Headz as decoration in their room as well!
3. Initial Baseball Hat, Rey to Z
These hats come in a range of colors and in any letter that you want. We have SO many of these hats around and the kids love to use them. They also come in beanies and bucket hat styles.
4. 100 Bubbles Fidget Toy, YEAHPY
At first, I didn't think I wanted to buy these types of fidget toys for them. However, when I thought of different creative ways to use them in addition to fidgeting, I've found that they can be quite useful: multiplication practice, adding (10 frames), and keeping score of our family games.
5. Blank Comic Book for Kids, Wink Eye Press
We designed this book for our kids who love to draw comics all the time. We have many different types of blank comic books in different styles, but they didn't really like the ones with bubbles because they wanted them to be placed in the spots where they wanted to place them. We included comic book covers and also some character development pages so that they can plan before they draw - if they wish.
6. Winking Croc tee, Lightning Strikes Originals
These tees are super cute, fun, and are super soft. They come in several cool styles including a cobra snake kite, a shark kite, raining bugs, and a venus fly trap!
7. How to Draw the Most Fun Things for Kids - Epic Drawings, Wink Eye Press
We created this book based on things that excite kids. It has 45+ fun step-by-step drawing projects including the Venus Fly Trap, Snakes, Sharks, Insects, Water Gun, Manta Ray, and many more!
8. Personalized Pencils, Oriental Trading
These come in different quantities and multiple colors including gold, silver, white and all the colors of the rainbow. When your kids leave their pencils everywhere, you know who to call to clean them up when it has their name on it! These have been given as gifts and is always a hit!
9. Star Wars R2-D2, Tamagotchi
These guys are back this decade! Bought a couple for our own kids and very excited to see if they can take care of their own electronic pet....before we even talk about getting a real one!
10. Dachshund Hot Dog, Squishables
These come in several sizes, but I just splurged on the largest size. How can you resist this wiener dog in the largest size? It will sit well on their beds as a nice pillow/stuffie!
11. Chattering Teeth Wind-up Toy, Toysmith
This classic, super fun wind-up toy is one that will always be played with.
12. Recycled Zip Pouches, Loqi
We own MANY, MANY sets of Loqi zip pouches at home. We organize our masks, pencils, pencil crayons, electronics, and just about anything with them when we travel. This set shown is the Japanese art by Hokusai.
We have so many of these around our house in every color, and different sizes. Why? Because they are so much fun and bring a bit of personality to every room that they are in. These cubes convert into a robot and are a fun wooden puzzle to put together. We have them displayed all over the place, sitting on the top of our piano, picture frame, and on our shelves.
14. Prank-lopedia book, Julie Winterbottom
This is the ultimate book for the prankster. It was a hit because they teach you how to come up with some GOOD pranks that are not mean! Very well written too!
15. Marble Spinner, Loopy Looper
There are 4 different types of these marble spinners for fidgety hands (young and older). We purchased the two easier versions - Hoop and Flow and expect this to be well loved soon.
*Please note that we do not receive any commissions on any of these products other than our own books. These are toys that we have purchased previously and are our very own recommendations.
