Gift Guide for the Baker or Cook
Here is a Gift Guide for the Baker or Cook. This Gift Guide is for someone who probably has all the tools in the kitchen, but these gifts are probably ones that they never even thought of! These gifts will enhance their love of baking and/or cooking.
These gifts are thoughtful, unique, personal, and it’s something that they probably didn’t even think of.
Let’s check it out:
1. Cast Iron Skillet by FINEX
This cast iron skillet is solid and not only looks amazing on our stove, but is a great edition to our pot/pan collection. It is handmade in the USA. The smaller 8″ or 10″ is efficient at making eggs or cooking up anything quick.
2. Blank Recipe Book by Wink Eye Press
Our blank recipe book, Our Favorite Family Foods: A Family Recipe Book to Write In, is an organized blank cookbook to help you organize all your top recipes. Comes with 8 flexible sections to organize your family favorites. This book contains all original hand-illustrated artwork and lettering. This book includes inspiring quotes about connecting your food with family memories. Every one of the 200+ pages has been meticulously designed for all your recipe book needs.
3. Enamel Bowls by Barn Light Electric
These bowls by Barn Light Electric come in many different sizes from a small bowl (5″ diameter) to a salad bowl size (10″ diameter). They can be used to prepare and serve foods (since they are so beautiful), and can even be used as a fruit bowl. They are durable since they are made of enamel, so they are great for outdoor dinner parties as well.
4. Monogram Mug by Crate & Barrel
Monogrammed mugs are great for the hard to buy for – and are great for the entire family. Who doesn’t like something that is personalized for them, and what a unique gift as well! Great for someone who really has everything already.
5. Coffeemaker, by CHEMEX
I bought this for my husband and he has been using this coffeemaker everyday for several years now. What he loves about it is that it is compact and you don’t need the entire big get up to make a small cup of coffee (great for smaller servings). He also loves it because it makes a consistent brew every time, it’s easy to clean, and it can be placed on the stovetop to reheat if more is made and it gets cold. You just need a special type of coffee filter and you need a pour over kettle or pourer to distribute hot water.
6. Stainless Steel Flexible Turner by OXO
A flexible turner is a game changer when it comes to flipping food over any cast iron or stainless steel pan. It is also a better material for food safety since it does not contain non-stick coatings nor does it have any plastic on the surface (i.e. no melting). I have recommended this product to everyone and I use it every single day. It comes in 2 sizes, and my larger-sized turner has not failed me.
7. Ice Pop Mold by Onyx Containers
Popsicle molds are so great to make healthy popsicles (without all the sugar and additives) in the summer. You can take any extra fruit that you have from your local market, mix them together with some honey or maple syrup in your food blender, and pour into these molds. I especially love these molds because they do not contain any plastic in them and is a really quality product. You can even make chocolate fudge popsicles and pour them in hot, without worrying about the plastic or silicone melting. We have also made elderberry syrup into popsicles and the kids love them.
8. Beeswax Wrap by Bee Kind Wraps
We have ditched the plastic wrap altogether and have adopted beeswax wraps. There are some wraps that are plain colored, but we really love the patterns available at Bee Kind Wraps. All of their patterns have been originally designed, including this wavy pattern and another pattern that looks like a Jackson Pollack.
9. Reusable bags by Baggu
I hate to admit it, but I do have an obsession with Baggu bags. I think I have about 30 in total. I use them for everything – groceries, retail shopping, hauling things around for the kids, and I even use them as an eco-friendly way to “wrap” Christmas presents by tying them up like a bow at the top. They are super durable as they are made of rip-stop nylon, fold up nicely into a pouch, and come in SO MANY different patterns and styles that are always changing (including collaborations with Peanuts/Snoopy and Where’s Waldo). They come in 3 different sizes: Baby Baggu (great as a lunch bag), Standard Baggu (the most popular size), and Big Baggu (holds a TON of stuff). This is a great gift for someone who has to bring a lot of groceries in and is out and about quite a bit.
10. Picnic Set by Picnic at Ascot
This set is a pretty complete set for someone to have – to take their entertaining beyond the kitchen. It comes in various sizes (depending on the size of your picnic party) and patterns. I love the style of this set for all your picnic needs.
11. Grocery bags by Lotus Trolley Bags
Some people swear by these bags to help them organize their groceries at the store before you bring them in at home. If your groceries are to be stored in various locations around your house other than your kitchen: for example, into your freezer in the garage or basement, a prep kitchen, a basement bar fridge, or pantry behind the kitchen, this is a great way to save you from sorting your bags after the fact when you are at home.
12. Enamel Set by Barn Light Electric
In addition to the enamel bowls recommended above, I love a beautiful enamel dish set. Enamel dishes are a step above melamine sets (and more food safe), and they are easier to use than your regular breakable dishware with kids and for outdoor parties. You can even use these nicer sets to bring with you when you are camping, which makes them very versatile.
13. Teapot by For Life Design
I have bought these teapots for so many different people – because they are the nicest teapots around. The best part is on the inside – the stainless steel filter that holds the tea leaves and is easy to wash. These teapots come in several sizes and many different colors – great for any home.
14. Page Holder by Page Anchor
A page holder helps you secure your pages without holding it open or requiring a large stand to hold your books (which also require a drawer to store them in). This page holder can be used for both reading books and for those thick hardcover cookbooks that keep closing on you. It is made from surgical stainless steel and coated with gold, silver, rose gold, and black finishing – looks like a piece of jewelry.
